2. Put matching paint marks on the propeller shaft tube and the slip yoke (see Figure 1).

NOTE:

Marking prevents improper yoke-to-shaft alignment during reassembly. Improper alignment may cause a vibration.

CAUTION:

Use only paint for matching marks. Do not use etching or any other sharp tool that can cause surface damage to the propeller shaft or slip yoke.

3. Remove and discard the clamp near the center bearing, and then slide the slip yoke off of propeller shaft tube (no picture shown).

4. Lift the dust shield off of the center bearing (no picture shown).

5. Press the center bearing off the propeller shaft tube using a bearing puller (OTC #205-D002 or equivalent) and suitable hydraulic press (see Figure 2).

1. Apply a thin coat of multi-purpose grease or equivalent to both the propeller shaft tube and the inside surface of the center bearing (picture not
shown).
