Seat Belt Retractor: Service and Repair

SEAT BELT RETRACTOR

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative and positive battery cables, then wait at least 3 minutes.

2. Remove the adjuster cover on the seat belt anchor.
3. Remove the anchor bolts.
4. Remove the center pillar upper/lower garnish.
5. Remove the anchor bolt.

For front passenger side, disconnect belt tension sensor.

6. Disconnect the seat belt pre-tensioner connector.
7. Remove the seat belt pre-tensioner retractor screw and anchor bolt, then remove the seat belt retractor.

Installation

CAUTION:  During installation, the wire harness clips must be reinstalled in the holes they were originally in. Do not add additional clips.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
