16.

Remove the trim ring from around the ignition knob.

Use a plastic trim tool.

Pull it straight out (towards the driver seat).

Disconnect the 5 electrical connectors from the lock cylinder assembly.

NOTE:

For easier identification of the connectors, the lock cylinder is shown removed from the vehicle.

It may be easier to disconnect #3 (lock knob illumination) as you remove the lock cylinder in step 19.

18.

Make sure the ignition knob is in the lock position and the steering wheel is locked.

CAUTION:

If the steering wheel is not locked before the lock cylinder is removed, the steering wheel lock may not work after the new lock cylinder is installed.
