SERVICE INFORMATION

If the power audio antenna is inoperative on an applied 1995-1999 Maxima, the antenna assembly circuit board may be corroded due to improper water
drainage.

Should the incident occur and if there are signs of restrictions in the sunroof and antenna drain system (such as corrosion/dirt build up in the 3-way
connector and dirt and rust in the drain hoses), install a new power antenna assembly and use the service procedure in this bulletin to reroute the sunroof
and antenna drains.

If there are no signs of restriction in the sunroof and antenna drain system, the sunroof and antenna drains do not need to be rerouted. Inspect the power
antenna assembly and its wiring harness and repair as necessary.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Open the vehicle's trunk and pull open the jack storage door (see Figure 1A).

2.

Remove the jack from its frame (see Figure 1A).

3.

Clear out any items obstructing the wheel well area.

4.

Pull the antenna and sunroof drain hoses out of the wheel well (see Figure 1B).

NOTE:

The antenna and sunroof drain hoses should come out of the wheel well attached to a 3-way connector (see Figure 1B).

5.

Disconnect each hose from the 3-way connector (see Figure 1B).

6.

Inspect the drain hoses for signs of dirt and rust. Inspect the 3-way connector for corrosion/dirt build up.
