If the motor rebuild procedure is not successful, replace the wire guide assembly (73670-41L10 (Sedan) or 73671-W3300 (Wagon)) as follows:

A.

Open the sun roof lid fully to minimize the length of drive wire which must be handled.

B.

Remove the supporting screws from the front and sides of the sun roof frame allowing it to tip down at the front.  The drain hoses will
temporarily hold the sun roof assembly about four inches below the roof.  Install safety wires through the two front sun roof mounting holes
to support the sun roof at this level.

C.

Remove and replace the wire guide assembly (Figure 2).

Test the sun roof for proper operation but do not hold the switch in the "CLOSE" position for more than 2 or 3 seconds after the sun roof is fully
closed.

CAUTION: There is no limit switch which automatically stops the motor. The motor is in a stalled and maximum torque condition when the sun

roof reaches the end of its travel.  Prolonged stall conditions may damage the motor or gear drive again.
