FIGURE 1 - Sunroof Motor Assembly

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Remove the motor assembly from the sun roof.

2.

Rebuild the motor assembly as follows (use Figure 1 for reference):

A.

Remove and discard the 3 rubber mounts and spacers on motor plate A. Remove motor clip and motor pinion.  Then remove and save the
original motor washer A.

B.

Remove motor plate A and replace motor washer C if damaged (P/N 73688-01E62).  Replace the wave washer with motor washer B in the
kit. Apply grease (use excess from inside gear housing) to the motor shaft and washers.

C.

Replace motor packing if damaged (P/N 73690-01E60).

D.

Install original motor plate A and new motor plate B with 4 new screws in the kit.

E.

Install original motor washer A and new motor washer A from the kit.

F.

Install new motor pinion and new motor clip from the kit.

3.

Install the rebuilt motor assembly but do not install the sun roof trim.

4.

Test sun roof for proper operation but do not hold the switch in the "CLOSE" position for more than 2 or 3 seconds after the sun roof is fully
closed.

CAUTION: There is no limit switch which automatically stops the motor. The motor is in a stalled and maximum torque condition when the sun

roof reaches the end of its travel.  Prolonged stall conditions may damage the motor or gear drive again.
