Be careful, don't damage the door panel while you're working on it.

After repairs are made, reinstall the door panel and make sure the tick noise is gone.

Upper Door Panel Rubber Waist Molding
(Refer to Figure 2 if needed.)

1.

Bend all 8 of the "waist" molding metal tabs straight (see Figure 3).

CAUTION:

Do not bend tabs more than needed. Tabs will break if bent several times.

2.

Carefully lift the waist molding away from the door panel.

CAUTION:

Do not take the rivets loose. There is one rivet at each end of the waist molding.

3.

Apply 2 rows/strips of felt cloth tape under the waist molding.

Use felt cloth tape 68239-13E00 from Squeak and Rattle Kit.

Make sure the tape strips are next to the bottom edge.

Apply tape the entire length of the waist molding, and as far out to each end as possible.

4.

Apply felt cloth tape around metal tab holes.
