BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER
Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Never spill or splash brake fluid on painted surfaces. Brake fluid may seriously damage paint. Wipe it off immediately and wash with water if
it gets on a painted surface.
1. Drain brake fluid. Refer to See: Brake Fluid/Service and Repair/Draining.
2. Separate the brake fluid level switch harness connector.
3. Remove sub tank and hose.
4. Remove cowl top cover. Refer to See: Body and Frame/Cowl/Cowl Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Exploded View.
5. Remove front wiper drive assembly. Refer to See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor Linkage/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Exploded View.
6. Remove extension cowl top. Refer to See: Body and Frame/Cowl/Cowl Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Exploded View.
7. Remove air duct and air cleaner case. Refer to See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner
Housing/Service and Repair/Exploded View.
8. Separate the brake tubes from the master cylinder assembly with a flare nut wrench.
CAUTION:
Never scratch the flare nut and the brake tube.
9. Remove the master cylinder assembly.
CAUTION:

Depress the brake pedal several times to release the vacuum pressure from the brake booster.
