THE KEY WARNING DOES NOT SOUND

Description

The is key warning chime does not sound under the following conditions.
-

Key inserted into the key slot (Key switch signal ON)

-

Ignition switch is not in ON or START (Ignition switch signal OFF)

-

Front door switch (driver side) is open. [Door switch signal (driver side) ON]

Diagnosis Procedure

1.CHECK BCM INPUT SIGNAL
1. Connect CONSULT-III.
2. Select the "Data Monitor" of "BCM (BUZZER)" and check the "KEY SW-SLOT" monitor value. Refer to See: Pinout Values and Diagnostic

Parameters/BCM (Body Control Module).

Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Replace Intelligent Key unit. Refer to See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Keyless Entry/Service and
Repair/Remote Keyless Entry Receiver/Exploded View/With Intelligent Key System.
NO - GO TO 2.
2.CHECK KEY SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT
Check the key switch signal circuit. Refer to See: Starting and Charging/Starting System/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General
Diagnostics/Key Cylinder Switch/Diagnosis Procedure/Without Intelligent Key System.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - Check applicable parts, and repair or replace corresponding parts.
3.CHECK DOOR SWITCH SIGNAL (DRIVER SIDE) CIRCUIT
Check the door switch signal (driver side) circuit. Refer to See: Body and Frame/Locks/Power Locks/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and
General Diagnostics/Door Switch/With Automatic Back Door/Diagnosis Procedure.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 4.
NO - Repair harness or connector.
4.CHECK FRONT DOOR SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE)
Check the front door switch (driver side). Refer to See: Body and Frame/Locks/Power Locks/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General
Diagnostics/Door Switch/With Automatic Back Door/Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Replace the BCM. Refer to See: Body and Frame/Body Control Systems/Body Control Module/Service and Repair/Body Control
System/Removal And Installation.
NO - Replace the front door switch (driver side). Refer to See: Body and Frame/Locks/Power Locks/Service and Repair/Exploded View.
