Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Inspection After Removal / Installation

FRONT WHEEL HUB AND KNUCKLE

Inspection

INSPECTION AFTER REMOVAL
Check components for deformation, cracks, and other damage. Replace if there are.

Ball Joint Inspection
Check boots of transverse link and steering outer socket ball joint for breakage, axial play, and torque. Refer to See: Suspension/Suspension Strut /
Shock Absorber/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Coil Spring And Strut/Inspection and See: Steering Gear/Service and
Repair/Overhaul/Inspection.

INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION
1. Check wheel sensor harness for proper connection. Refer to See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Wheel

Speed Sensor/Service and Repair/Wheel Sensor/Front Wheel Sensor/Exploded View.

2. Check the wheel alignment. Refer to See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Inspection.
3. Adjust neutral position of steering angle sensor. Refer to See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Testing

and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Adjustment Of Steering Angle Sensor Neutral Position/Description See: Brakes and Traction
Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Adjustment Of Steering Angle Sensor
Neutral Position/Special Repair Requirement
