Transfer Assembly: Inspect for Reseal or Replacement

NOTE:

If the VIN and production date falls with in the range of JN8AZ18W(*)9W-202328 and March 1, 2009 through JN8AZ1MW(*)AW-133572 and July 9,
2010, STOP HERE. Replace the transfer assembly.

If the VIN and production date does not fall with the range stated above, go to Step 1 below.

1. Determine if the transfer assembly is to be replaced or resealed.

^ This is done by removing the transfer assembly, and then inspecting for contact marks (see Figure 1-3).

2. Write down all radio station presets.

3. Disconnect both battery cables, negative cable first.

4. Remove the transfer assembly.

^ Refer to the DLN section of the appropriate ESM, if needed.
