SERVICE INFORMATION
This vehicle may be equipped with the Rain-Sensing Auto Wiper system.
^
A rain sensor is located on the windshield, if equipped.
^
With this system, when the wiper lever is pushed down to the intermittent (INT) position, the wipers will operate when the rain sensor detects rain.
NOTE:
The wipers may operate unexpectedly when dirt, fingerprints, oil film, or insects are located on or around the sensor, or when exhaust gas or moisture
affect the rain sensor.
If a customer states the wipers do not work when the wiper lever is pushed down to the intermittent (INT) position, make sure the customer is familiar
with the above information.
You can demonstrate the operation of the system by pushing the wiper lever down to the intermittent (INT) position and spraying/sprinkling water over
the rain sensor.
NOTE:
If a wiper-operation incident does occur, refer to the applicable Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for further diagnostic assistance.
