Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation of Front Oil Seal 
REMOVAL 

1. Remove the following parts:

^

Splash guard (RH)

^

Front RH road wheel and engine side cover

^

Drive belts.

^

Rear cover plate

2. Remove crankshaft pulley as follows:

a. Loosen crankshaft pulley mounting bolt.

CAUTION:  Exercise care not to damage signal plate.

b. Locate bolt seating surface at 10 mm (0.39 inch) from its original position. Remove crankshaft pulley.

3. Remove front oil seal using a suitable tool.

CAUTION:  Be careful not to damage front timing chain case and crankshaft.

INSTALLATION 

1. Apply engine oil on new front oil seal.
2. Using a suitable drift, press fit until the height of front oil seal is level with the mounting surface.
