Murano FWD V6-3.5L (VQ35) (2004)
3. When draining all of the engine coolant for engine removal or repair, open the drain plugs on the engine-right and left sides and the engine-front
side.
4. Remove the reservoir tank, drain the engine coolant and clean the tank before installing.
5. Check drained engine coolant for contaminants such as rust, corrosion or discoloration.
If contaminated, flush the engine cooling system.
REFILLING ENGINE COOLANT
1. Install reservoir tank if removed, and radiator drain plug.
2. Close and tighten cylinder block drain plugs securely if removed.
^
Apply sealant to the threads of the cylinder block drain plugs.
^
Use Genuine Thread Sealant or equivalent.
Radiator drain plug: 0.78 - 1.56 Nm (0.08 - 0.15 kgf-cm, 7 -13 inch lbs.)
Cylinder block drain plug (LH): 59 - 65 Nm (6.1 - 6.6 kgf-cm, 44 - 47 ft. lbs.)
Cylinder block drain plug (RH): 24.5 - 29.4 Nm (2.5 - 2.9 kgf-cm, 18 - 21 ft. lbs.)
Cylinder block drain plug (Front side): 7.8 - 11.8 Nm (0.8 - 1.2 kgf-cm, 69 - 104 inch lbs.)
3. Fill radiator, and reservoir tank if removed, to specified level.
^
Pour engine coolant through coolant filler neck slowly of less than 2 Ohms (2-1/8 US qt,1-3/4 Imp qt) a minute to allow air in system to
escape.
^
Use genuine Nissan anti-freeze coolant or equivalent mixed with water (distilled or demineralized.
Engine coolant capacity (with reservoir tank at MAX level)
: Approximately 9.2 Ohms (9-3/4 US qt. 8-1/8 Imp qt)
Reservoir tank capacity (at MAX level): 0.8 Ohms (7/8 US qt. 3/4 Imp qt)
4. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature with radiator cap installed.
5. Run engine at 3,000 rpm for 10 seconds and return to idle speed.
^
Repeat two or three times.
6. Stop engine and cool down to less than approximately 50°C (122°F).
^
Cool down using a fan to reduce the time.
^
If necessary, refill radiator up to filler neck with engine coolant.
