About the Pathfinder
The Pathfinder is an SUV made since 1985, sold outside North America as the Terrano until 2004. Up to the third generation it was built on Nissan's compact pickup platform, shared with the Hardbody and Frontier; from 2012 it became a unibody crossover. The full-size Armada was originally badged the Pathfinder Armada.
What these manuals cover
- 1987–1993 (first generation): the 2.4-litre four (Z24i) and the 3.0-litre V6 (VG30i, then VG30E).
- 1996–2004 (second generation, R50): the 3.3-litre V6 (VG33E), then the 3.5-litre V6 (VQ35) from 2001.
- 2005–2009 (third generation, R51): the 4.0-litre V6 (VQ40DE), and the 5.6-litre V8 (VK56DE) in 2008.
- Pathfinder Armada, 2004: the 5.6-litre V8 (VK56).
Tip: the Infiniti QX4 is the luxury version of the second-generation Pathfinder, and the Infiniti QX56 is the luxury Armada.
