WIND NOISE FROM ROOF RACK
APPLIED MODEL:
Pathfinders with Sunroof & Roof rack SERVICE INFORMATION:
Under certain driving conditions, objectionable wind noise may be heard when the sunroof is open. One of the causes of the wind noise is the air bulletin,
over the front roof rack cross bar. This wind noise may be reduced by moving the roof rack front cross bar towards the rear of the vehicle. SERVICE
PROCEDURE:
1.
Loosen the two wheel assemblies that fasten the front cross bar assembly to the side strips.
2.
Slide the front cross bar assembly at least 12 inches towards the rear of the vehicle.
3.
Tighten the two wheel assemblies to fasten the front cross bar firmly to the side strips.
4.
The cross slat assemblies can also slide along the side strips. If the slat assemblies limit the movement of the front cross bar assembly, loosen the
adjusting stud and slide the cross slat assemblies along the side strips; then, tighten the adjusting studs. (Figure 1)
