SERVICE INFORMATION

On some 1987-91 Pathfinder vehicles, a popping/cracking noise may be heard from the front windshield while driving over rough or bumpy road
surfaces, especially in cold temperatures. To determine the proper repair action, remove the left hand (LH), right hand (RH) and lower outer windshield
moldings. Test drive vehicle to listen for windshield noise and proceed with either repair # 1 or # 2 below.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Repair # 1 -

If noise is eliminated, install the countermeasure LH, RH, 
and lower outer windshield moldings. Refer to Parts 

Information section.

Repair # 2 -

If noise is not eliminated, check for any body panel
rubbing around the windshield area and repair as necessary. If no signs of rubbing can be found, carefully remove and reseal the
front windshield and install the countermeasure windshield moldings.
