With the engine idling, parking brake set and the transmission in "P" or "N", turn the steering wheel back and forth 10 times to the full lock
position on each side.

CAUTION:

Do not hold the wheel to full lock for more than 5 seconds. Damage to the pump or other hydraulic system components may occur.

Inspect the fitting for further leakage.

If no leakage re-occurs, repairs are complete.

If further leakage occurs, replace the fitting bolt and washers. Then retest.

7.

Wipe the area clean, then check the power steering fluid level. Adjust fluid level as necessary.
