1.

Raise and support vehicle and remove wheel and tire assemblies.

2.

Remove brake drum. If drum is difficult to remove, screw in bolt to pull drum out.

3.

Remove anti-rattle spring and pin, Fig. 16.

4.

Remove lower return spring, open brake shoes outward and remove two upper return springs, then remove extension link.

5.

Remove shoe assemblies.

6.

Separate secondary shoe from toggle lever by removing pin.

7.

Apply suitable lubricant to lubricating points, Fig. 16.

8.

Reverse procedure to install.
