Control Arm: Service and Repair
Transverse Link and Ball Joint

REAR WHEEL DRIVE MODELS

1.

Raise and support vehicle and remove wheels.

2.

Disconnect side rod stud from steering knuckle.

3.

Remove steering knuckle attaching bolts and disconnect knuckle arm from bottom of strut.

4.

Remove compression or tension rod and stabilizer bar.

5.

Loosen transverse link mounting bar and separate link from crossmember.

6.

Remove transverse link with ball joint and knuckle arm.

7.

Place transverse link in a vise and remove bolt securing ball joint to transverse arm and the ball joint from the arm.

8.

Reverse procedure to install.
