The premium audio system (see Figure 2) is optional only on SE and GLE models and features a dual-media function.  This function cuts out the rear
speakers* when the headphones are in use.  This allows the front passengers to listen to one media (radio, CD or cassette) while the rear passengers
(using headphones) listen to another media (radio, CD or cassette). 
 
* The sub-woofer (located in the left rear of the vehicle) will continue to operate and plays whatever media is selected by the front driver/passenger.
 
NOTE:  The dual-media function will not allow the front and rear passengers to listen to same media with different selections (different radio stations,
CDs or cassettes).

The standard audio system (see Figure 3) is standard equipment for all models and does not have the dual-media function (even if the vehicle is equipped
with the rear audio control).  With this audio system all speakers will cut out when the headphones are in use. 
 
** A six-disc CD changer is optional on GXE and SE models and is standard equipment on the GLE model.
