SERVICE INFORMATION

If a driver/passenger of a 1991-93 Sentra (B13) or 1993 Altima (U13) vehicle complains that the motorized shoulder be its seem to lock up too
frequently or seems too sensitive to changes in vehicle speed or position, modified motorized shoulder belt retractors are now available as service pans to
help address customer satisfaction issues. Although modifications to the retractor assembly may reduce customer comments about shoulder belt
operation, customers may still experience occasional shoulder belt lock-up. This reflects normal operation of both original and modified shoulder belts.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Remove the seat assembly from the vehicle and remove the plastic finisher covering the shoulder belt assembly.

2.

Remove the bolts which hold the shoulder belt assembly and lap belt buckle to the seat track.

3.

Loosen the seat track bolts to provide space between the seat frame and track for removal of the electrical connector to the shoulder belt.

4.

Position the electrical connector first, then install the new shoulder belt assembly.

5.

Hand tighten the bolts for the seat track, shoulder belt and seat belt buckle to assure proper alignment. Torque to the specifications shown in
Figure 1.

6.

Reinstall the plastic finisher.
