Centrifugal Advance Test

1.

While preventing distributor shaft from turning, turn reluctor counterclockwise by hand and release it.

2.

Ensure reluctor returns to its original position.

3.

If reluctor does not return properly, remove distributor shaft and rotor shaft, inspect weights and springs for signs of damage.

4.

If no damage was detected, apply grease to frictional surface of weights, frictional surface of breaker plate and springs.

5.

Apply grease to distributor shaft. Ensure proper centrifugal advance operation.
