Removal And Installation

WATER OUTLET AND WATER CONTROL VALVE

Removal and Installation

WARNING:
Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Serious burns could occur from high pressure engine coolant escaping from the 
radiator.

REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Perform when the engine is cold.
1. Drain engine coolant from the radiator.  See: Coolant/Service and Repair/Changing Engine Coolant.
2. Remove air cleaner and air duct assembly.  See: Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Air Cleaner Fresh Air

Duct/Hose/Service and Repair/Component See: Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and
Repair/Removal And Installation.

3. Remove radiator hose (upper).  See: Radiator/Service and Repair/Component See: Radiator/Service and Repair/Removal and Installation.
4. Remove heater hoses and water hoses.
5. Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor.
6. Remove water outlet.
7. Remove water control valve.
8. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor, if necessary.

CAUTION:
-

Handle carefully to avoid any shock to engine coolant temperature sensor.

-

Replace the gaskets and rubber rings with a new ones.
