SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN, INSTRUMENT VOLTAGE REGULATOR, 1987 SENTRA
INTRODUCTION
On some 1987 Sentra vehicles produced from May, 1986 through September 1986, the fuel and engine temperature gauges may not give accurate
readings. If this occurs, replacement of the instrument voltage regulator is necessary. To prevent future customer dissatisfaction from this incident, a
service campaign is being conducted to replace the instrument voltage regulator on all vehicles falling within the applicable VIN range. Vehicles which
have had the regulator replaced under Warranty are already corrected and will not be included in this campaign.
All owners of the remaining affected vehicles will be notified by letter to bring their vehicles to a Nissan dealership for replacement of the instrument
voltage regulator. This service will be provided at no cost to the owners, and will be available until November 30, 1988.
In certain cases, an owner who has paid for the repair because the vehicle was beyond the warranty period may be eligible for reimbursement, provided
the repair can be documented with a repair order, invoice or receipt. The program is limited to repayment of reasonable parts and service expenses only.
The refund claim form must be mailed to Nissan Motor Corporation in U.S.A. by February 29, 1988.
