While lifting the throttle drum lightly with a finger, gently pull the ASCD wire toward the passenger side of the vehicle to remove all wire slack
(see Figure 1 and Figure 2, below).

When the slack in the ASCD wire is removed, tighten the adjusting nut to hold the tightened wire in place. Then loosen the adjusting nut 1/2 to 1
turn (see Figure 1 for location of adjusting nut).

Tighten the lock nut to 69-96 in-lbs (0.8-1.1 kg-m).

NOTE:

When wire adjustment and lock nut tightening is complete, ensure that the rubber grommet on the lock nut side is properly positioned (see
Figure 1) and that the ASCD wire is not under "tension".

7.

Repeat the test drive under the conditions described in the Service Information section to verify that the condition has been corrected.
