Ball Joint: Testing and Inspection

    Check ball joint for play. If ball stud is worn, play in axial direction (C) is more than zero inches, ball joint swing force (A) is not 1.8-12.3 lbs. or ball
joint turning torque (B) is not 4.3-30.4 inch lbs., replace ball joint, Fig. 5. Before checking, turn ball joint at lease 10 revolutions.
