Crash Zone Sensor

CRASH ZONE SENSOR

Removal and Installation

CAUTION:

-

Before servicing SRS, turn the ignition switch off, disconnect both battery cables and wait at least 3 minutes.

Check crash zone sensor for proper installation.

Check crash zone sensor to ensure it is free of deformities, dents, cracks or rust. If it shows any visible signs of damage, replace it with new one.

After replacement of crash zone sensor, check SRS function and perform self-diagnosis for SRS. Refer to "SRS Operation Check". See: Air Bag
Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Do not attempt to disassemble crash zone sensor.

-

Replace crash zone sensor if it has been dropped or sustained an impact.

1. Disconnect crash zone sensor.
2. Remove nuts from crash zone sensor and bracket.

Then remove bracket and crash zone sensor from radiator support.

NOTE:  To install, reverse the removal procedure sequence.
