Circuit Description:

DTC 86 EBCM/EBTCM Turned On The Red "Brake" Warning Lamp

This DTC is provided as an "information only" test and reflects the status of the command issued by the EBCM/EBTCM to illuminate the red
"BRAKE" warning lamp. If another diagnostic DTC issues a command to illuminate the red "BRAKE" warning lamp, DTC 86 will be stored in
memory as a history DTC at the conclusion of the ignition cycle.

DTC Chart Test Description:

Code 86: EVCM/EBTCM Turned On The Red Brake Warning Lamp.

Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. This step serves to identify if a DTC other than DTC 86 commanded the red "BRAKE" warning lamp "ON."

Diagnostic Aids:

Any ABS mechanical DTC that issues a command to illuminate the red "BRAKE" warning lamp will also result in DTC 86 being stored in
memory during shut down. 
These DTCs are: 38, 41, 42, 45, 46, 47, 48 and 51.

If the motors are not in their home position, certain electrical DTCs will also command the red "BRAKE" warning lamp "ON." 
These DTCs are: 14, 18, 55, 56, 57, 58, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 and 66.

If any of these DTCs are indicated along with DTC 86, they must be corrected prior to addressing a DTC 86 malfunction.
