This bulletin is being issued to revise DTC P1629, Theft Deterrent Crank Signal Malfunction table for 1996 vehicles equipped with PassLock System
and 2.2L and 2.4L engines.

On Step 2 of the DTC P1629 table, the Action column asks if DTC P1629 is also set. It should read if DTC P1601 is also set.

On Step 5 of the DTC P1629 table, the Action column first instruction should read, "Perform the Passwords Learn Procedure". Refer to Powertrain
Control Module portion of the Service Manual.
