Blower Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove alternator belt, attaching bolts and alternator, then set aside.
3. Disconnect electrical connectors from blower motor.
4. Position engine wiring harness aside.
5. Partially cut blower motor case cover as indicated in Fig. 23. The cutting pattern is also indicated on the blower case cover. Cover thickness is
approximately 1/8 inch. Cut just through thickness of cover. Any cut deeper than thickness of cover may cause damage to cooling tube.
6. Move cut portion of cover downward and disconnect blower motor cooling tube.
7. Remove blower motor retaining screws and blower motor.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Use three retaining clips to attach cut portion of blower motor cover.
