Alero L4-144 2.4L DOHC VIN T SFI (2000)
1. Install the new seal. Use the J41102. Lubricate the seal lip with a light wipe of transmission oil.
Important: Carefully guide the axle shaft past the lip seal. Do not allow the shaft splines to contact any portion of the seal lip surface, otherwise
damage to the seal will occur.
2. Install the two new snap rings on the stub shaft.
3. Install the stub shaft into the transmission. Use a mallet.
4. Install the drive axle assembly. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Inspect the oil level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure.
7. Inspect the shaft and the seal for leaks.
