Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
FRONT
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Disconnect spark plug wires, then remove manifold-to-crossover pipe attaching bolts.
3.
Remove air cleaner attaching bolts, then the engine cooling fan.
4.
Remove exhaust manifold-to-cylinder head attaching bolts.
5.
Remove oil level indicator tube and indicator, then the exhaust manifold.
6.
Reverse procedure to install.
REAR
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Raise and support vehicle.
3.
Remove exhaust pipe-to-manifold attaching bolts, then lower vehicle.
4.
Disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector and spark plug wires.
5.
Remove manifold-to-crossover pipe retaining nuts.
6.
Remove serpentine drive belt, then the power steering pump.
7.
Disconnect heater hose from tube, then remove manifold heat shield.
8.
Remove ignition module bracket attaching nuts.
9.
Remove exhaust manifold attaching bolts and the manifold.
10.
Reverse procedure to install. Transfer oxygen sensor and exhaust pipe seal to replacement manifold.
