File a radius in the handle as shown in Figure 2.
6.
De-burr the inside edges of the handle where the rod fits through, sand all surfaces smooth that were filed.
7.
Touch up all filed surfaces to stop corrosion, and insure proper operation.
8.
Reinstall the door handle.
9.
Reinstall the outside handle to the lock rod by adjusting the nut on the lower end of the rod until the knob of the attaching nut is between one and
two turns lower than the hole in the lever of the lock. Snap the nut into the hole and engage the clip onto the lever and rod assembly.
10.
Check for proper operation. Reinstall the water deflector and trim panel.
