Cutlass V6-191 3.1L VIN M SFI (1998)
3. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown below:
Tighten
3.1. Tighten the crossmember support left rear outboard bolt (4), to 110 N.m (71 lb ft), plus 90 degrees rotation.
3.2. Tighten the crossmember support right rear outboard bolt (6), to 110 N.m (71 lb ft), plus 90 degrees rotation.
3.3. Tighten the crossmember support front upper bolt (5), to 110 N.m (71 lb ft), plus 90 degrees rotation.
3.4. Tighten the crossmember support right rear inboard bolt (7), to 110 N.m (71 lb ft), plus 90 degrees rotation.
Important: Do not loosen the nut at any time during installation.
4. Install the nut attaching the ball joint (3) to the steering knuckle.
Tighten

Tighten the ball joint to steering knuckle nut to 55 N.m (41 lb ft) minimum, 65 N.m (50 lb ft) maximum.

Install the power steering gear bolts, and hand start the bolts.

Tighten the left side bolt to specification first, then tighten the right side bolt to specification.
6. Install the front exhaust pipe. Refer to Three Way Catalytic Converter (with Exhaust Manifold Pipe) in Exhaust.
7. Install the crossmember support braces.
Tighten

Tighten the crossmember braces to the core support bolts to 72 N.m (53 lb ft).
