Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
EVAPORATOR CORE
Remove or Disconnect
1. Recover refrigerant.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Module electrical connections, disconnect harness straps and move harness aside.
4. Accelerator control cable lever (3100 Engine).
5. Heater hose routing bracket from cover.
6. Liquid line at evaporator inlet and low pressure line at evaporator outlet.
7. Resistor from top cover.
8. Blower motor electrical connector.
9. Cover retaining screws (loosen bottom screws only) and remove cover.
Clean: All old gasket material from cowl.
Install or Connect
1. Apply permagum sealer to case and install cover with new gasket.
2. Cover retaining screws (tighten bottom screws).
3. Blower motor electrical connector.
4. Resistor to top of cover.
5. Liquid line at evaporator inlet and low pressure line at evaporator outlet.
6. Heater hose routing bracket to cover.
7. Accelerator control cable lever (3100 Engine).
8. Route cowl harness in straps and connect module electrical connections.
9. Negative battery cable.
10. Evacuate and charge the system.
11. Leak test the system.
