Engine Mounts for damage to rubber portions of mount, fluid loss, or damage to mounting stud.
Important
-
Before replacing any engine mount due to suspected fluid loss, make sure that source of fluid is mount and not engine or accessories.
1. Raise engine assembly to remove weight from engine mount (341) and to place slight tension in rubber.
2. Observe engine mount (341) while raising engine assembly. If engine mount (341) exhibits following conditions, replace it.

Hard rubber surface covered with heat check cracks.

Rubber separated from metal plate of engine mount (341).

Rubber split through center of engine mount (341).
3. If there is relative movement between metal plate of engine mount (341) and it attaching points, lower engine assembly on engine mount (341) and
tighten bolts/screws or nuts attaching engine mount (341) to frame or bracket.
Remove or Disconnect
1. Hood panel assembly.
2. Engine mount strut brackets.
3. Electric engine cooling fan assemblies.
4. Install J28467-A and ] 36462.
5. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
6. Front exhaust manifold pipe.
7. Intermediate steering shaft bolt/screw and move cover aside.
8. Drain engine oil.
9. Engine splash shield.
10. Suitably support frame assembly (503) with floor stands.
11. Transaxle mount frame side bracket nuts from frame assembly.
12. Nuts (340).
13. Rear drivetrain and front suspension frame bolts/screws.
14. Lower drivetrain and front suspension frame assembly.
15. Engine mount nuts from engine mount bracket (344).
16. Engine mount assembly (341).
Install or Connect
Notice: When fasteners are removed, always reinstall them at the same location from which they were removed. If a fastener needs to be replaced,
use the correct part number fastener for that application. If the correct part number fastener is not available, a fastener of equal size and strength
(or stronger) may be used. Fasteners that are not reused, and those requiring thread locking compound will be called out. The correct torque value
must be used when installing fasteners that require it. If the above conditions are not followed, part or system damage could result.
1. Position engine mount assembly (341) to engine mount bracket (344).
2. Engine mount nuts.
Tighten
-
Nuts to 53 Nm (39 lb. ft.)
3. Raise frame assembly (503).
4. Rear drivetrain and front suspension frame bolts/screws.
5. Nuts (340) to frame assembly (503).
Tighten
-
Nuts (340) to 43 Nm (32 lb. ft.).
6. Transaxle mount frame aside bracket nuts to frame assembly.
7. Remove floor stands from frame assembly (503).
8. Engine splash shield.
9. Intermediate steering shaft bolt/screw and cover.
10. Front exhaust manifold pipe.
11. Lower vehicle.
12. Remove J 28467-A and J 36462.
13. Electric engine cooling fan assemblies.
14. Engine mount strut brackets (335).
15. Hood panel assembly.
16. Refill with engine oil.
