Troubleshooting Hints
1. Check INDIC Fuse by visual inspection.
2. Check that G119 is clean and tight.
3. Check brake fluid.
4. If brake fluid is low and the "BRAKE" Indicator does not light, check the Brake Fluid Level Switch.
5. If equipped with Antilock Brakes and "BRAKE" Indicator is lit, check for trouble codes.
6. If equipped with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and the "BRAKE" Indicator does not light with the Park Brake set, check CKT 33, CKT 1134
and Park Brake Switch for an open or short to B+ (voltage). If OK, replace the DRL Module.
7. If the "BRAKE" Indicator does not light at all, check:
-
The "BRAKE" Indicator bulb for an open.
-
The Instrument Cluster printed circuit for an open.
-
The TAN/WHT (CKT 33) wire for an open.
^
Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage
check.
^
Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
