INFORMATION ON ABS PUMP MOTOR FAILURES
MODEL/YEARS:
1986-90 EIGHTY EIGHT, NINETY EIGHT AND TORONADO MODELS EQUIPPED WITH ABS (ANTILOCK BRAKES)
CONDITION:
Some 1986-90 Eighty Eight, Ninety Eight, And Toronado models equipped with ABS, may experience a failed ABS pump motor.
CAUSE:
This condition may be caused by a faulty pump motor relay. The pump motor relay contacts may become welded together causing the pump motor to
continue running after the specified system pressure is attained.
CORRECTION:
To correct this condition and prevent repeat failures, the appropriate pump motor relay listed should be replaced any time a pump motor failure occurs.
