22. Evaporator from module.

NOTE: This car will have brazed fittings on the condenser and evaporator. These fittings cannot be turned because the fitting is brazed to the pipe. It
is important that the service technician recognize which fitting is to be turned and use back-up wrenches.
The brazed fittings not to be turned are always the same color as the pipe it is brazed to (unpainted or unplated aluminum).
1. Evaporator into module.
2. Module into vehicle.

With strip-caulk, thoroughly seal the seam where the barrier had been cut.
3. Upper evaporator and blower module bolts (7).
4. Hoist vehicle.
5. Lower evaporator and blower module bolts (3).
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Evaporator outlet line and support bracket using new "O" ring seals.
8. Blower motor resistor.
9. Exhaust manifold heat shield.
10. Blower motor including electrical connection and cooling tube.
11. Vacuum tank.
12. Power steering pump hose.
13. Evaporator tube (condenser to evaporator) using new "O" ring seals.
14. Accumulator and bracket using new "O" ring seals.

Remove sealing caps just prior to connecting refrigerant lines.
15. Evaporator outlet line to accumulator.
16. Electrical connector to pressure cycling switch.
17. Accumulator to condenser hose.
18. Four electrical connections and relay bracket assembly.
19. Engine compartment rear sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair.
20. Negative battery cable.
21. Evacuate, charge, and leak test system.
