Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose Orientation
5. Retainer.
6. Power steering gear outlet and inlet hoses from steering gear.
7. Steering gear mounting bolts.
8. Support body with stands to allow lowering of frame.
9. Loosen front frame bolts.
10. Rear frame bolts, and lower rear of frame about 76 mm (3 inches).
NOTICE: Do not lower rear of frame too far, as damage to engine components nearest to the cowl may result.
11. Steering gear through left wheel opening.
Install or Connect
1. Steering gear through left wheel opening.
2. Raise rear of frame.
3. Frame bolts, and tighten to 103 N.m (76 lb. ft.).
4. Remove stands.
Steering Gear Mounting
5. Five steering gear mounting bolts, and two washers. Tighten bolts in the sequence shown on the illustration.
Tighten

Bolts to 68 N.m (50 lb. ft.). Loctite® Thread Locking Kit No.1052624, or equivalent, must be used.
6. Power steering gear outlet and inlet hoses; tighten connections to 27 N.m (20 lb. ft.).
7. Retainer.
8. Tie rod ends to steering knuckles; tighten nuts to 47 N.m (35 lb. ft.).
9. Cotter pin. Tighten nut up to 1/6 additional turn, or to 70 N.m (52 lb. ft.) max., to align cotter pin slot. Do not back off nut for cotter pin
insertion.
10. Intermediate shaft lower connection; tighten bolt to 47 N.m (35 lb. ft.).
11. Tires and wheels. Tighten wheel nuts to 140 N.m (100 lb. ft.).
12. Lower vehicle.
13. Fill and bleed system.
Inspect

For leaks.
