Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair
Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder - Dash Mounted
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: When the ignition switch lock cylinder is replaced, perform (BCM) theft deterrent relearn. Refer to BCM Programming/RPO
Configuration in Body Control System. Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Service and Repair/ See: Accessories and
Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Service and Repair
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the radio.
3. Turn ignition switch lock cylinder key to the ON position.
4. From the access hole, on the right side of the ignition switch depress and hold down the locking tab using a small flat-bladed tool. Pulling on the
ignition switch key removing the ignition switch lock cylinder from the ignition switch.
5. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder key.
6. Pull the ignition switch bezel from the ignition switch lock cylinder.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Recode the ignition switch lock cylinder if replaced. Refer to key and Lock Cylinder Coding in General Information.
2. Align the ignition switch bezel to the tabs on the ignition switch lock cylinder and press on until fully seated.
3. Insert the ignition switch key to the ignition switch lock cylinder.
4. Turn the ignition switch key to the ON position.
5. Align the ignition switch lock cylinder to the ignition switch and press in until fully seated.
6. Turn the ignition switch key to the OFF position.
7. Install the radio.
8. Connect the battery negative cable.
9. Perform the (BCM) theft deterrent relearn, if the ignition switch lock cylinder was replaced. Refer to BCM Programming/RPO Configuration in
