This bulletin updates the brake pedal replacement procedure in Section 5.
PROCEDURE
Brake Pedal Replacement
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1.
Sound insulator panel (LH).
2.
Courtesy lamp from sound insulator.
3.
Booster pushrod from brake pedal.
4.
Accelerator pedal from bracket.
5.
Electrical connectors from cruise control and stop lamp switches.
6.
Vacuum hose mounting clip from brake pedal bracket.
7.
Brake booster mounting bolts.
8.
Brake pedal bracket upper mounting bolt (1993-94 only).
9.
Brake pedal and bracket.
10. Cruise control and stop lamp switches from brake pedal bracket.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1.
Cruise control and stop lamp switches from brake pedal bracket.
2.
Brake pedal and bracket.
3.
Brake pedal bracket upper mounting bolt (1993-94 only).
Tighten
Tighten bolt to 10 Nm (88.5 lb.in.).
4.
Brake booster mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten nuts to 27 Nm (20 lb.ft.).
5.
Vacuum hose mounting clip from brake pedal bracket.
