Stabilizer Bar Removal & Installation

When removing rear springs do not use a twin-post type hoist. The swing arc tendency of rear axle assembly when certain fasteners are
removed may cause it to slip from the hoist. Perform operation on floor if necessary.
1. On models with electronic level control system, disconnect battery ground to disable electronic level control system.
2. Raise vehicle and place suitable jack stands under frame side rails in front of rear wheel wells. Position a suitable jack stand under rear axle
assembly.
3. Remove right and left side brake line bracket attaching screws from frame and allow brake line to hang freely.
4. Remove track bar attaching nut and bolt at rear axle, Fig. 4.
5. Remove right and left shock absorber lower attaching bolts. Do not suspend rear axle by brake hoses.
6. Lower rear axle and remove springs and insulators.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure springs are positioned as shown in Fig. 1.
