REMOVAL
1. Remove nut securing shift lever to transaxle and disconnect lever from shaft.
2. Release ``T'' latch and disconnect electrical connector from switch.
3. Remove switch mounting bolts and the switch, Fig. 8.
INSTALLATION
New Switch
New switch is pinned in position to provide correct adjustment. If pin is missing or has been broken by rotating switch, follow procedure for
installation and adjustment of used switch.
1. Rotate shift shaft to neutral position.
2. Align flats on switch with flats on shaft, then install switch.
3. Install and tighten mounting bolts. Do not rotate switch if bolts will not align with case mounting boss, ensure shift shaft is in neutral
position. If shaft is properly positioned but bolts still do not line-up with mounting boss, refer to procedure for old switch.
4. Install shift lever and reconnect electrical connector to switch.
5. Ensure engine will only start with selector in ``Park'' and ``Neutral'' positions and verify proper operation of back up lamps.
