Toronado V8-307 5.0L (1982)
EXC. TILT & TELESCOPE
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove steering wheel.
3.
Remove cover screws and cover.
4.
Using suitable compressor, depress lock plate far enough to remove the C-ring from shaft.
5.
Remove lock plate, cancelling cam, spring and signal lever.
6.
Depress hazard warning knob then unscrew knob and remove.
7.
On models less column mounted dimmer switch, position lever in right turn position and remove three switch attaching screws.
8.
On models with column mounted dimmer switch, remove actuator arm screw and actuator arm, then remove turn signal lever by pulling straight
out to disengage.
9.
Remove panel lower trim cap, disconnect switch harness and remove bolts attaching bracket to column jacket.
10.
Disconnect shift indicator if equipped.
11.
Remove two nuts holding column in position, remove bracket and wire protector while holding column in position then loosely install bracket to
hold column in place.
12.
Tape switch wires at connector keeping wires flat, then carefully remove wires and switch.
