1.
Lightly lubricate brake shoe pressure pads on back plate.
2.
Install leading shoe with hold-down spring.
3.
Insert end of lower return spring through hole in leading shoe.
4.
Attach parking brake cable to lever.
5.
Connect short end of upper return spring, then install trailing shoe.
6.
Attach lower return spring to trailing shoe, Fig. 2.
7.
Position automatic adjuster nut .197 inch (5mm) from stop on yoke, then install pushrod, Fig. 3.
8.
Connect upper return spring to leading shoe.
9.
Install spacer cup, then the adjustment lever with spring. Ensure lower arm of spring passes behind the anchor.
10.
Install brake drum, wheel and tire assembly.
11.
Check master cylinder fluid level and replenish as necessary.
12.
Check brake pedal for proper feel and return.
13.
Lower vehicle and road test.
