Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

Fig. 1 Booster Removal

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove windshield wiper arms.

3.

Remove air intake grill (1), screws (2), clip (3) and connector (4). Fig. 1.

4.

Disconnect vacuum hose and separate master cylinder from booster without disconnecting brake lines.

5.

Disconnect clutch cable from pedal cluster assembly.

6.

Disconnect stop lamp switch connector, then remove pedal pads.

7.

Remove booster mounting nuts.

8.

Remove booster and pedal cluster as an assembly.

9.

Separate booster from pedal cluster.

10.

Reverse procedure to install.
