If the fuel gauge is still totally inoperative, it may be necessary to replace the instrument fuel gauge unit. This should be done only after
having performed the above procedure and a complete check of the electrical circuits (refer to pages 60, 64 and 65 of Electrical Workshop
Manual).

Remove the fuel gauge electronic board as described on page 3

Remove the 3 fuel gauge retaining nuts (5.5mm) and flat washers
-
underneath (C) Remove the 3 oil level/temperature gauge retaining nuts (5.5mm) and flat washers
-
Remove the 4 tach. board retaining nuts (5.5mm) and 4 flat washers with triangle-shaped center
-
Disconnect the 4-pin tach. board connector
-
Remove the 4 small flat washers underneath the tach. board
-
Remove the white plastic cover on left side of instrument cluster retained by two 5mm screws (E)
-
Disconnect the 6-pin connector
-
Remove the one 5mm screw and flat washer (F) located directly under the plastic cover

Remove the 3 water temp. gauge retaining nuts (5.5mm) and small flat washers
-
Remove the 2 speedometer retaining screws (7mm) and cup washers
(G)

Remove instrument cluster visor: first release the 4 clips on the bottom, followed by the 4 clips on the top, while pivoting the visor upward
-
Remove the 4 phillips-head screws on front housing (2 upper, 2 lower) and pull faceplate out
-
Pull out fuel gauge needle only

Remove the two phillips-head screws holding fuel gauge to faceplate
-
Rotate fuel gauge unit out
-
Install new fuel gauge supplied in kit P/N 6131.93
-
Reassemble and install instrument cluster in reverse order
