COMPLAINT:
1.
Incorrect fuel gauge reading, may not show "EMPTY," especially after replacement of the tank sending unit.
2.
Excessive time required to read "FULL." This condition will occur if the ignition key is left in the "ON" position during fuel fill-up.

Ensure correct orientation of the sending unit to the fuel tank, as shown in Figure 1. Failure to do this may result in the float arm on the sending
unit coming into contact with the tank wall, which may cause an erroneous reading.
Position the sending unit so that the arrow (1) is between the second and third hash marks on the fuel tank.
NOTE: Placement of the arrow in the drawing may not correspond with the placement on the actual sending unit.

The fuel gauge is equipped with circuitry to prevent rapid or erratic movement of the gauge in relation to fuel movement in the tank. Therefore, if
the tank is filled while the ignition key is in the "ON" position, the stabilizer circuit remains "energized" and it may take up to 6 minutes for the
gauge to show the correct level of fuel in the tank.
To prevent this from occurring, simply turn the ignition off while filling the tank. This will "reset" the stabilizer circuit and the gauge will read the
proper level when the ignition is turned back on.
